Freshly Prepared, Chilled & Ready to Heat

We’re dedicated care home caterers who believe in true quality, and it’s important to us to support residents’ health, wellbeing and quality of life through thoughtful menus. As a result, we prepare every nutritious, homestyle meal from scratch, with chefs taking great care over recipes, fresh local ingredients, taste and nutritional quality, covering everything from beloved traditional dishes to lighter, modern choices.

For maximum safety and freshness, all meals are chilled for easy delivery and tailored precisely to resident dietary needs, including complex texture-modified diets. Menu planning is structured, often on a normal four-week cycle, to ensure variety, safety and a nutritious diet that reflects the needs that come with age. These menus are designed to meet dietary requirements such as texture needs, allergies, diabetes and cardiovascular health, with safe communication in place around clinical conditions.

While our menus evolve with the seasons to guarantee variety, here is a preview of what your residents could enjoy. Menus also offer choice across vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes, with seasonal change guided by resident and family requests where appropriate. We consult residents to understand preferred dishes, textures and foods they do not want, because choice and what matter most to them are important at mealtimes. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room or in a resident’s room, helping keep arrangements flexible. Regular drinks, fresh fruit and nourishing snacks are available through the day, with staff helping monitor intake to ensure needs are met. We also cater for cultural traditions, ethical choices and dietary laws so menus remain inclusive.

How We Plan Menus Around Sustainability

A wide range of delicious care home catered meals produced by ablecare kitchens

Menu planning is a continuous process that balances nutrition, variety, and environmental considerations. Our chefs review seasonal availability, resident preferences, and dietary needs when designing menus.

We invite you to explore the variety of menu options available, designed to cater to diverse tastes and preferences. Residents are actively involved in menu planning, and their feedback is incorporated to ensure meals are enjoyable and align with their tastes. Menus often rotate every four to eight weeks to prevent monotony and offer a wide range of dishes.

By planning, we reduce the need for last-minute substitutions that can result in waste or increased food miles. Residents enjoy familiar dishes made with the freshest, most sustainable ingredients, while care homes benefit from a reliable, environmentally conscious service.
